FRANKLIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE TYPE OF INCIDENT: Burglary OFFICER: Kachajian DATE OF INCIDENT: 04-18-06 TIME OF INCIDENT: 2000 LOCATION OF INCIDENT: Lake Road, St. Albans NAME: HEATH, Chad AGE: 26 ADDRESS: St. Albans, VT SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 04-19-06 at approximately 0824 hours, Deputy Kachajian was dispatched to Lake Road in St. Albans Town for a report of a past burglary/larceny from the residence. Upon arrival on scene, Deputy Kachajian met with the complainant, a Mr. Kevin Bean, who stated to him that someone had broken into his garage last night and had stolen two of his work bags full of tools and approximately 350 to 500 pounds of copper tubing. During further investigation into the incident over the course of the next few days, Deputy Kachajian was able to determine that the crime was done by a party by the name of Chad Heath. Early in the morning of April 20, with the assistance of Lt. Oliver of the FCSO, Mr. Heath was taken into custody. Further investigation after the arrest showed that Mr. Heath had allegedly sold the scrap copper to a scrap metal yard in the Town of Hinesburg on the previous day. The whereabouts of the work bags containing numerous “Milwaukee” power tools that were taken is unknown at this time. Mr. Heath was later returned to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and then transported to court for arraignment.
