FRANKLIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE TYPE OF INCIDENT: Two Car Motor Vehicle Accident OFFICER: Kachajian DATE OF INCIDENT: 04-18-06 TIME OF INCIDENT: 1515 LOCATION OF INCIDENT: Lower Newton Road, St. Albans Town NAME: FISKE, Joshua AGE: 17 ADDRESS: St. Albans IF ACCIDENT, VEHICLE YEAR & MODEL: 1996 Chevrolet Tracker DAMAGE (LOCATION, YEAR & MODEL): Passenger Side Damage NAME: BEAN, Donald AGE: 57 ADDRESS: St. Albans, VT IF ACCIDENT, VEHICLE YEAR & MODEL: 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee DAMAGE (LOCATION, YEAR & MODEL): Rear Bumper & Taillight Assembly SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 04-18-06 Deputy Kachajian was dispatched to the area of 1324 Lower Newton Road for a report of a two car motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Upon arrival on scene with AmCare Ambulance, Deputy Kachajian was able to determine that neither party was injured as a result of the crash. Upon further investigation it was learned that the operator of Vehicle #2, Mr. Bean, was attempting to back out of a driveway located ay 1324 Lower Newton Road when his vehicle was struck by Mr. Fiske, the operator of vehicle #1, as he was traveling west on Lower Newton Road. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage but were able to be driven from the scene by their respective operators. The cause of this accident is believed to be through the fault of both operators. It is believed at this time that the operator of vehicle #2 failed to use care when backing out of the driveway onto Lower Newton Road. It is also believed that the operator of vehicle #1 may have been traveling at a speed greater than the posted speed limit for that area of Lower Newton Road. Neither party were issued moving violations as a result of this accident.
