FRANKLIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE TYPE OF INCIDENT: Motor Vehicle Crash OFFICER: Kachajian DATE OF INCIDENT: 04-14-06 TIME OF INCIDENT: 1327 LOCATION OF INCIDENT: Lower Newton Road, St. Albans NAME: BLISS, Dorothy AGE: 82 ADDRESS: Stuart, Florida IF ACCIDENT, VEHICLE YEAR & MODEL: 2002, Toyota Avalon DAMAGE (LOCATION, YEAR & MODEL): Front End Damage NAME: LUSSIER, Kim AGE: 33 ADDRESS: Maquam Shore Road, Swanton, VT IF ACCIDENT, VEHICLE YEAR & MODEL: 2005, Kia Sedona DAMAGE (LOCATION, YEAR & MODEL): Rear bumper & undercarriage INJURIES (NAME, NATURE OF INJURIES, WHICH VEHICLE, WHERE PATIENT TAKEN): #1: LUSSIER-Neck & headache, refused transport SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On April 14, 2006 Deputy Kachajian was dispatched to the intersection of Lower Newton Road and Lord Road in St. Albans Town for a report of a two car motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Upon arrival on scene with the St. Albans Town Fire Department, both operators were standing outside of their respective vehicles and did not appeared to be injured. The operator of vehicle #2, Ms. Lussier, advised the deputy that she had a headache and that her neck was burning as a result of the crash, but that she did not want to be seen by rescue. The other operator involved in the crash, Ms. Bliss was not injured. During the course of his investigation, Deputy Kachajian learned that Ms. Lussier had been stopped at the intersection of Lower Newton Road and was in the process of making a left hand turn onto Lord Road. While she was waiting to turn, Ms. Lussier was struck from behind by Ms. Bliss. Ms. Bliss stated to the deputy that Ms. Lussier had stopped suddenly in the roadway and that she did not activate her turn signal while stopped at the intersection. Neither operator was issued a moving violation as a result of this accident.
