FRANKLIN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE PRESS RELEASE TYPE OF INCIDENT: Embezzlement OFFICER: Kachajian DATE OF INCIDENT: 04-07-06 TIME OF INCIDENT: 1044 LOCATION OF INCIDENT: 333 Swanton Road – Diamond Jim’s Restaurant NAME: HOLMES, Christina AGE: 24 ADDRESS: St. Albans, VT SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 040706 Deputy Kachajian was dispatched to 333 Swanton Road, Diamond Jim’s Restaurant in St. Albans Town for a report of a fraud perpetrated by an employee. Upon arrival on scene, Deputy Kachajian met with the manager of the restaurant who stated to him that an employee by the name of Christina Holmes had stolen money from her cash out account on 040506. The manager went on to state that Ms. Holmes attempted to make it appear as though a large table of customers had paid with their credit card when in fact they had paid cash for the food tab. During an audit, the manager located the discrepancy and later confronted Ms. Holmes about it. The suspect denied having any knowledge about the incident. The manager made arrangements with Ms. Holmes to speak with her about it on her next scheduled work day on 040606, but she never came to work and she never contacted them by telephone. Ms. Holmes, upon further investigation, was located at her residence in St. Albans Town at which time she was cited to appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge of embezzlement. Ms. Holmes’ employment has since been terminated with her previous employer.
