SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On 04-04-06 at approximately 0016 hours, I observed a
green Toyota bearing VT registration DES901 being
operated in a negligent manner. The vehicle came off from
Eastern Avenue right in front of me. I observed the
operator to be Elvin Sweet. I knew that Sweet’s license
was suspended. The operator got out of the vehicle and
ran into a nearby apartment. A few minutes later I
observed Sweet get back into the vehicle and head north
on River Street. The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of
speed. I stopped the vehicle on Pinnacle Road. The
operator verbally identified himself as Elvin Sweet. I could
smell a strong odor of intoxicants coming from his breath.
He was arrested and processed for DUI. Sweet was issued
a citation to appear in VT District Court on April 24, 2006
and released.
