Upon arrival on scene, Deputy Kachajian observed a small gray Honda Accord on its roof down the embankment adjacent to the southbound lane of Route 104. Both the driver, later identified as a Ms. Cynthia Germaine, her adult passenger and her three small children were out of the vehicle and being evaluated by Fairfax Rescue. Upon further investigation it was learned that the operator was traveling south on Route 104 when she suddenly lost control of her car after hitting a patch of snow and ice. After losing control, the vehicle swerved back and forth in the travel lane, spun around 180 degrees and then skidded off the road. After leaving the road, the car skidded down an embankment and then flipped over onto its roof. A check of the operator’s license at the crash scene revealed that her license was civilly suspended (7th offense). Ms. Germaine was later issued a ticket for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. The cause of this crash was determined to be due to the icy road at the time of the accident.
