SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:

On January 31, 2006, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office
responded to People’s Trust Company in St. Albans
regarding an allegation of numerous bad checks.
Investigation by this Office disclosed that from January 11th
through January 28th, Clair allegedly passed approximately
28 bad checks at businesses within this county. These bad
checks totaled in excess of $3,700.00. The investigation of
Clair by this Office is continuing. Other police agencies
within this county are also investigating allegations of
check fraud against Clair. Clair was arrested by Deputy
Billow on February 1, 2006 to answer to the allegations of
Bad Check, 28 counts.
