Stop
Teen Alcohol Risk Team is a county-wide effort that is administered by
the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. In 2007, our office was awarded a
grant from the State of Vermont, Department of Health, Division of Alcohol
and Drug Abuse Programs. A team was developed in order to increase the
capacity of Franklin County’s response to underage drinking.
The team is comprised of members from local law enforcement, State Police,
Liquor Control, State's Attorney, Diversion Board, Social and Rehabilitative
Services (SRS), Court Diversion, and the local substance abuse prevention
coalition.
Sheriff Norris, as the Law Enforcement Coordinator, will work with local
law enforcement agencies to develop a standardized plan in responding
to reports of underage drinking in a timely and efficient manner. Kristy
Lynch, as the Grant Administrator will be working with the other team
members in order to complete the goals of the grant and get the message
of the seriousness of underage drinking into the limelight.
The grant is in its infancy and we look forward to working with all
Team Members for a successful grant year.
