| If you reside in the following Towns of Bakersfield, Berkshire, Fairfield,
Fletcher or Franklin and you require a VIN verification for the purposes
of motor vehicle registration and/or abandonment and you are not able to
have this completed by your local law enforcement agency, the Franklin
County Sheriff’s Office will complete this task for you either on
a Tuesday or a Thursday.
For a small fee of $20.00, to cover the cost of personnel and fuel,
and a call to the Sheriff’s Office to make an appointment, we will
arrange a schedule with you to have your VIN verified. We accept cash
and/or money order only and will provide a receipt. You need not be present.
Simply make arrangements with the sheriff’s office to have the
paperwork ready.
If you reside in a town where we presently have a contract (Enosburg,
Fairfax, Georgia, Highgate, Montgomery, Richford, St. Albans Town, Sheldon
and Swanton Town) and need to have your VIN verified before we sign-on
duty, we will perform this task for you as well for the same slight fee.
